Named after then-President Ulysses S. Grant, Grant County has its share of Civil War- and Reconstruction-era history. Located to the south of Little Rock in a rural landscape of rolling, pine-covered hills, the county is centered around the city of Sheridan. Threaded by a number of scenic rivers and creeks, including the Saline River, the county offers some excellent fishing as well as canoeing and floating.
