7 Mile Ranch

The 7 Mile Ranch is located 35 miles west of Del Rio and 7 Miles north of Comstock Texas on FM 1024. The 7 Mile Ranch is approximately 21 sections (14,293 acres) of west Texas canyons and pasture land. Recognized as an historic place in the Texas, the ranch offers rare opportunities of exploring, hiking, and discovery. Deep, unexplored canyons command the western sections of the ranch with Indian caves located in the walls of the canyons dating back thousands of years that were used for shelter.

Energy exploration on the ranch has been of interest in the recent years. One of the main roads on the ranch (Oilfield Road) will take you to the exploratory site of a few years past. The 7 Mile Ranch has approximately 5,962 acres of state classified minerals that are included in the sale. Wind farm developers have also expressed an interest in the ranch.

If hunting is your interest, then you should notice the amenities that are available at the 7 Mile Ranch:

*The ranch headquarters offers an Owners lodge, two lodging quarters for hunters, ranch foreman living quarters, and a ranch house that has a commercial kitchen and large dining area for your guests. All the lodges are fully furnished with all the comforts of home.

*Cell phone power boosters provide continuous communication service, internet service is available, and security cameras are located near the ranch house and at the headquarters.

*A vehicle storage garage having fourteen bays with lockable doors and parts storage facilities.

*Ice machine, washing machine and dryer, game cleaning station, and cold storage unit.

*Large air compressor, vehicle lift, covered equipment parking area, and lighted work area.

*Four fuel tanks for gasoline and diesel, covered parking areas for lodging, an outdoor covered area for relaxing or grilling, and a rifle and pistol range.

*There are 14 deer hunting stations on the ranch. Each station is fenced and includes a 1500 lb. Lamco protein feeder, a Hang Em High corn feeder, a two-person tower deer stand (4-12' tall) with two quality chairs for the hunters.

*Two feed silos (15 tn. & 30 tn.) are included for protein and corn storage.

*A trailer mounted gas operated feed distributor (4 tn.) is included for filling the protein and corn feeders

*A 1,500 lb. road feeder including a jeep for feeding roads is included.

The 7 Mile Ranch is a working ranch as well as a hunting ranch. The ranch is fenced into four pastures with smaller fenced areas used for livestock traps. Several corrals are located on the ranch used for livestock roundups and working. At the center of the ranch is the shearing pen & main corrals. Although not used as a shearing operation any more, the shearing pen is a great place to meet up to take a break after a morning of working stock or hunting the wildlife. Four large, fenced pastures for livestock assures plenty of available grazing land.

In west Texas, water is life. The ranch is well watered in order to support and sustain the livestock and wildlife that live on the ranch. With 5 working water wells, over 40 water troughs, 8 water storage tanks, and miles of water line earns the 7 Mile Ranch as one of the best watered ranches in the county.

The ranch is big, but dont worry about getting lost and cant find your way back to headquarters. The ranch has excellent roads with road signs that will direct you back to your lodge. The road signs are named after well-known west Texas persons or places which make for good conversations as you travel the many miles of improved roads on the ranch.

And dont forget to visit Lookout Mountain while on the ranch. From Lookout Mountain there is not a house top or house lights that can been seen for miles with the mountains of Mexico in the southern skyline! Enjoy your favorite beverage & have a toast as the sun sets in Gods Country!

The northern half (6,152 acres) of this ranch can be purchased separately, see Property ID# 6807140
