Perched atop Wild Horse Mesa, this secluded property is located on a rarely traveled road, enhancing its privacy. It offers stunning views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range, including five of Colorado's 14,000-foot peaks, seemingly in your backyard. As an off-grid property, building here requires installing a septic system, cistern, and solar energy system; drilling a well would be too costly at this elevation. Water can be bought from the Mesa Community Center and delivered to the cistern. Another property for sale nearby could be perfect for a friend. Wild Horse Mesa is a hidden gem in Southern Colorado, with beautiful views, tranquility, and privacy. Accessed via a short dead-end road, the well-maintained neighborhood roads lead to Sanchez Reservoir and the Wild Horse Mesa Community Center. Most residents rely on community well water delivered to cisterns. The area offers serene isolation, with wild horses, mule deer, elk, pronghorn antelope, coyotes, eagles, black bears, mountain lions, and bighorn sheep frequently seen. The community lies at over 8,000 feet elevation, about 25 minutes from the charming San Luis and 1 hour and 15 minutes to Taos for shopping, dining, and cultural events. The Mesa spans approximately 20 square miles of breathtaking vistas featuring sagebrush, pinon, juniper, grasses, and wildflowers. Enjoy world-class stargazing and stunning mountain views, though cell service can be spotty, and internet is via satellite. Approximate center GPS coordinates: 37.0942 / -105.48
