20 acre California Gold Mining Claim with River

This is a legally registered, 20 acre gold Mining Claim for sale.

Total price of $2000 for a one time full payment. A signed contract will precede payment.

The South 1/2 20 acres is also available if want as a 40 acre claim for $3950.

Nearly 3/4 of the gold recovered from this county was from placer deposits. Many consider the placer deposits here to be the best in the Sierra Nevada range. Total production for Tuolumne County has been in excess of 11,000,000 ounces to date. Our Clavey River claims are placer claims. Tuolumne County, is one of the Mother Lode counties, which are those counties having the most gold discoveries.

The Clavey River is a tributary of the Tuolumne River, having a history of gold discoveries.

The river has bedrock pockets making for what prospectors call "Gold Traps" for panning.

The nearby town of Groveland is known as the gateway to Yosemite National Park.

The Clavey River is one of the few undammed rivers in California, which allows for any gold to flow freely downstream.

The Clavey is special because it has some of the highest biotic integrity of any river in California, meaning, it has little to no pollution. This river is unique because it still harbors a pre-glacial remnant population ofcoastal rainbow trout.

Mining Claims as an investment: if you purchase a claim from us, at no charge, I would help you if you ever decided to sell in the future.

Mining Claims are a great investment, as claims go up in value over time, just as land does. This is one of the areas of the original California Gold Rush.

Owning a mining claim is having access to a lifetime of great family fun and recreation, in a very beautiful, natural setting.

This is a 20 acre unpatented, gold mining placer claim, the North 1/2 of the Clavey River Gold #1, with the beautiful Clavey River running through the claim, and is in Tuolumne County, California, in the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains, and the Stanislaus National Forest. The claim is legally registered with the Bureau of Land Management out of Sacramento and Tuolumne County. You own the mineral rights, not sharing with others, on the 20 acres, and use your 20 acres, recreationally for camping: tent, camper, or RV, and prospecting: an awesome, beautiful area.

With an approved BLM Plan of Operation, a building could be built on the land: any building that benefits and improves the claim, though you cannot permanently live on a mining claim. Current usage, is what the BLM calls, Casual Use: panning, shovel, rock hammer, metal detector.

On trips to the claim, I gathered in and around the river, approx. 1/8 of an ounce of gold, being worth about $150. Someone with more time may find more. Gold prices are over $1200/ounce. Though we could never guarantee what you will find, we did locate this claim in an historically rich area for gold prospecting.

Tuolumne County has produced over 3 million ounces of lode gold and over 8 million ounces of placer gold: the placers are thought to be the richest in the states history. The word itself, Tuolumne, means Golden Adventures, named after the rich gold discoveries in the 1800s, and gold prospecting continues here today. Our claims are located on the way to Yosemite National Park known as the gateway to Yosemite.

The proximity to Yosemite makes this area a perfect vacation destination, with plenty of Gold Country to experience including hiking, biking, fishing, river rafting, camping, gold panning, skiing and sightseeing. The towns of Sonora, Columbia, Jamestown, Twain Harte and Groveland have much to offer including arts, festivals, theater, living history, shopping and entertainment. Whether you're a couple on a romantic wine-tasting weekend, or you've loaded up the family in the RV and hit the open road, Tuolumne County is your perfect place to shop, dine, explore, relax and get back to nature!

A transfer of ownership is a sale of legal, exclusive ownership of a mining claim site. To be a legally recorded claim, gold had to be found on the claim, which was completed by me, as I am the original claim locator.

Your ownership is legally conveyed via a Quit Claim deed, and legally recorded with the BLM and Placer County. A Quit Claim deed is the required legal document per the BLM. Each year, on or before September 1st, you need to file a form with the Bureau of Land Management, along with $155. By doing this, you keep the claim forever. I have paid the $155 fee for this year.

The Clavey River running through the claim is a unique advantage for gold prospecting.

Gold always occurs in gravels in the metallic state and when so found has various physical characteristics. Gold is dense and heavy, it has a characteristic metallic color, and it is soft and easily malleable (it is easily formed by hammering). These are the characteristics used by prospectors to identify gold in the field.

Placer gold occurs on the claim as small grains derived from gossan formed by weathering, and oxidation of the gold, copper and iron rich veins. Gold also occurs as grains flakes and small nuggets derived from the erosion of mineralized fault zones on, and upstream from the claim.
