Black Mingo Creek eases down from upper Williamsburg County through braids of swamp and finally becomes a single, navigable stream. Willtown Crossing Farm begins right at that point.
This 220-acre property near the Georgetown County line is mostly high ground with almost 7000 feet of frontage on Mingo Creek. It has a 5-acre upland duck impoundment, an 8-acre dove field and a boat landing on the creek. The most outstanding feature is a rolling, upland hardwood forest along the creek full of mature beech and swamp chestnut oak trees. There is a high bluff over the water which is about four feet deep at this spot with a 600-foot well and electric power for a home site. The balance of the property is in 20-year-old pines.
The property is protected by a Conservation Easement that allows a number of improvements including home construction and timber management. Five minutes from Backwoods Quail Club, 20 minutes from Georgetown, and just over an hour from Charleston, this is a gem of a tract well-suited for a river getaway and multi-species hunting on a manageable canvas.
