Lago Cisne Ranch

Excellent Gentleman's Hunting Ranch located in North Eastern Zavala County between Batesville and Frio Town. Ranch is accessed by an owned 60' all weather lane approx. 1.2 miles off FM 187, ensuring peace and privacy yet still maintaining ease of access.

The Crown Jewel of the property is the 40 + acre lake ( when at capacity ) that is on the southern end of the ranch. This lake creates an incredibly rich and diverse opportunity for all types of year round recreation. It has been stocked with Bass, Catfish and Blue gill with impressive catches being noted, the lake has produced several Double Digit Bass and Catfish. Due to the current drought, the lake is at its lowest level since it was impounded nearly 20 years ago. There is a smaller stock tank near the center of the ranch that provides additional water for wildlife. Water is piped to both the lake and the stock tank.

Ranch is headquartered by a nicely appointed, 1350 sq. 4/2 Modern Stucco House with a 360 sq. covered porch overlooking the Lake. Behind the house is a 1800 sq. barn that features a walk in cooler, game cleaning area and outdoor sink, as well as a parking area. A rainwater collection system services the house and barn. There is a large gravel yard outside the house that also over looks the lake with a in-ground fire pit that is used for outdoor entertainment. There is also a BBQ area & Picnic area below the house.

Other improvements on the ranch include a 900' +/- deep well in the Carrizo Sands that produces approx. 1000 GPM powered by a 240 HP John Deere Diesel Generator, a Center Pivot Irrigation systems that coverers approx. 19 acres, two diesel storage tanks near the well and a small pole barn used for storing equipment. In the field there are 4- 4x6 Blinds, 4 feeders and two protein feeders that are conveying with the ranch. Road system is very good, most of the roads are passible in all but the worst weather. Fence lines are clean, the game fence is of varying age but in good condition all the way around.

Hunting on the ranch is very good for all types of game. 6 years ago the native whitetail herd was reduced and given a boost with the introduction of 12 whitetail ( 6 bucks and 6 does ) out of improved genetics to enhance the native herd. There is an established breeding herd of Axis deer also on the ranch that gives hunters another quarry to pursue during the spring and summer months. Turkey populations are very good and the Wing-Shooting can be excellent for Dove, especially when the field is planted in Sesame, Milo or Sunflower. One untapped resource is the amount of Waterfowl that winters on the ranch; its not uncommon to see many different species of ducks such as Gadwall, Spoon-Bill, Shovelers, Widgeon, Pintail, Ringneck, Canvasback, Blue and Green Wing Teal and occasionally a Bufflehead or Hooded Merganser. Its also common to see Sandhill Crane and Speckled belly geese as well as non-game animals such as Swan and Pelicans.

This is an opportunity to own a long term family landholding that has been very well cared for and is a source of true year-round enjoyment. Ranch is just over 1 Hour from Downtown San Antonio making this ranch very convenient even for day trips.
