Welcome to Hermit Jack Ranch located in Jackson County. This 280 acre property sits just two miles south of the Wyoming border in the beautiful area known as North Park, Colorado. Threemile Creek flows through the ranch feeding the two private ponds. The 1680 sq ft main cabin sits just above the main pond with a deck extending out allowing you to fish for Brook Trout from the back door. The main ranch includes 240 acres of mostly native grass and sage brush suitable for grazing. The ranch is mostly fenced but could easily be finished to run your own herd or obtain a grazing lease. There is an additional detached 40 acres of mountain property in Parson’s Draw near the base of Independence Mountain giving access to 1000’s of acres of BLM.

Improvements The main cabin built in 1984 boasts 1680 square feet with three bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths and is surrounded by mature aspen trees. On the main level you will find an open concept kitchen, dining , and living room with a wood burning stove. The main level also includes two bedrooms, a full bath, and a laundry room. Upstairs you will find an open loft connected to a half bath. The loft works well for multiple beds or a large recreation area. The layout works well as a nice retreat or a year round mountain home. The main cabin as well as the bunkhouse are run on solar and propane. The solar system was updated in 2020 and includes new panels as well as a full bank of lithium batteries for storage. The bunkhouse is the original 1920’s homestead that has been added on to to complete a rustic cabin feel for guests to enjoy. Additionally,  there is also a rustic barn, garage, and a small shop on the property. The backhoe in the last picture is included.

Recreation Hermit Jack Ranch sits in Colorado’s GMU 161 offering big game, small game , predator,  and waterfowl hunting . Over the counter elk tags are available for archery, second, and third rifle seasons. North Park is well known for trophy quality moose, antelope, and mule deer. Although these tags can take a few years or more to obtain they are worth the wait. North Park also offers endless fishing opportunities. In addition to your own private ponds there are many destination lakes close by like Delaney Buttes, Big Creek Lakes, and  Lake John to name a few. The property sits just minutes from the North Platte River which is a well known trout fishery and destination for fly fishers from around the country.  In the winter when the snow is falling you can enjoy the nearby snowmobiling trails. You will never be bored!
