The 360± acre Ute Creek Ranch is located outside the town of Gladstone, New Mexico, in Union County. Union County is known for having one of the darkest skies in the US, creating spectacular star-gazing opportunities. This ranch is in Game Unit 56 which offers landowner permits for hunting. Ute Creek Ranch has everything to offer the outdoorsman in your family, from native fish and bass to the abundant variety of wildlife and birds that frequent the ranch's year-round creek. The ranch is in an antelope corridor and additional wildlife frequent the property including elk, deer, quail, roadrunners, bald eagles, and badgers. Scattered across the property, everywhere you look you will find remanence of the old history and heritage from the dinosaur tracks, petroglyphs, and ancient rock walls to the fossils, teepee circles, and artifacts.
The 1,000± square foot 40x60 Muller building was built in 2012 and offers a bunkhouse/living quarter with 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, additional room, and storage or work space upstairs. There are several outbuildings that double as guest cabins, with fiber optic phone & Wi-Fi that were added in 2019, and three 8x40 storage shipping containers.
The ranch is completely fenced with cross-fencing for pastures and good grazing land for a few head of cattle or horses. The garden and orchard are fenced as well with a 4± acre perimeter which includes 2 Parmak solar fences. The ranch grounds and garden boast mature fruit trees, grape vines, raspberries, choke cherries, strawberry, and asparagus beds.
The ranch has two 5,500-gallon water storage tanks that are fed by Grundfos solar well pumps that were installed in January 2020. The well is 150 feet deep with static water at 53 feet. The ranch is also equipped with two 6.5 kwh American-made outback controllers, two 4,500 watt inverters with 24 Helios panels that run the solar well at different speeds, a propane backup generator and one 400 watt primus wind generator for trickle charging batteries, and a second line is also in place to ultimately add another.
