Jones Creek Ranch

Jones Creek Ranch is the perfect mix of wildlife, cattle, and further development. It is located on Highway 36, just outside of Lake Jackson and less than an hour from Houston. Scattered throughout the ranch are century-live oak trees and tall green grass! The ranch has just under 1,000 feet of frontage on Highway 36. Jones Creek dissects the property on the eastern side and is a wonderful habitat for wildlife.

LOCATION

The ranch is located 8.5 miles south of Brazoria on Highway 36 and directly across the Brazos River from Lake Jackson.

TOPOGRAPHY, RANGELAND & HABITAT

The southern portion of the property is mainly grassland ideal for grazing cattle and includes a 10-acre bass lake with a solar well. In the middle of the property are scattered giant live oak trees. The Northern portion of the property converts back into more grazing with fewer Live Oaks. Jones Creek is located in the northeastern part of the property.

WILDLIFE

Currently, the property has not been hunted in 2 years. With light grazing pressure, this property is ideal for coastal bend whitetails. Jones Creek provides perfect habitat for these animals to thrive even in drought conditions. Please view the video to see the whitetail currently on the property.

WATER

The main attraction on the ranch is the 10-acre lake on the southern portion of the property which has been stocked with trophy bass in the past. The lake has a solar well that feeds it. Jones Creek comes into the property on the Northeastern side and holds water very well. This area of the ranch has the most wildlife.

ELECTRICITY

Electricity is found along highway 36.

AREA HISTORY

Stephen F. Austin first settled in Jones Creek. Jones Creek was named for Randal Jones, a military leader of early lower Brazos colonists. Jones led the battle with Karankawa Indians, later called the battle of Jones Creek.

DEVELOPMENT
