Brown Hill Forest East is a Vermont woodlot with exceptional timber, good access, easily developed camp sites, and a high-elevation ridge with an outstanding view-shed (see the nearly adjacent Brown Hill South). Located in the hamlet of Starksboro, Vermont, the property sits at the edge of the greater Burlington area (21 miles from downtown) and thus combines rural camp living with convenient access to a wealth of amenities. Lower terrain on the property is gentle, but it rises more steeply to a high-elevation ridge split by a saddle. An old internal trail leads to this plateau where there are areas of level ground interspersed with rock outcroppings.

Unusually highly-stocked stands exist throughout the forest. Stem quality is exceptional given the even-aged nature in which the stands have developed, and well-drained productive soils within the lower and mid-slope areas. Sugar maple is the major species, so the property is a good sugarbush opportunity with roughly 3,740 potential taps.
