Dream recreational retreat; an "off-the-grid" getaway with awesome vistas over the "Narrows" section of Lake Berryessa and spectacular sunsets over the Mayacama Range (Mt. Saint Helena); About 1/4 of the property consists of a semi-level bench that includes an adobe block cabana for shelter (red tile roof). A unique feature of the property is a shared natural spring water system that has been developed. The spring sourced water is plumbed underground to cabana from off-site tank and gravity-fed into cabana cistern tank. Other tanks at cabana store rainwater captured from roof. The water is used for irrigating small grove of olives and fruit trees. Perfect terroir and water to grow some killer Napa Red. A small pond collects seasonal run-off and is popular with the black-tail deer; turkeys and mountain quail. Lots of land to roam plus the property adjoins 300 acres of BLM land and by extension, miles of public shoreline along Berryessa.
The property is 5 miles beyond a locked gate off State Highway 128 just below Rocky Ridge at about 1,200 feet above sea level. A shared, seasonal, private access road winds up Thompson Canyon up to the ridge and then over the top into Napa Co. The road is managed and maintained by the Putah Creek Ranch Owners Assoc. and their are roadway rules on useage and keys and they do collect a small annual maintenance fee, but access remains seasonal at best.
Pack your gear and ice chest and head up to Monticello Dam and find your next adventure or peace and solitude.
The primary locked private access gate off State Highway 128 is just before the bridge over Putah Creek and just past the store at Canyon Creek Resort.
