Thats because the improved genetics get watered down by the native deer herds. Low quality genetic bucks can be culled, but the doe are a different story. The doe are more important than the bucks and no one knows what the genetics of the doe are, and that means poor genetic doe continue to breed every year watering down the genetics of the herd until eventually they have been brought down to the original native quality. The Canyon Ranch had the native deer taken off and the owners best breeding stock released. These were doe that sell for $20k to $30k a piece and from lines like Freeze Frame, Express, and Sudden Express. Straws of these bucks go for over $20k each. The doe were AId to Prodigy and Kryptonite. These are massive breeder bucks that were chosen because of their production of both huge typical bucks and doe that produce huge typical bucks.
