There is an upper meadow that provides the potential building site for a getaway cabin or year- round residence. The property offers gorgeous views of the mountains, the North Fork of the Salmon River and Pierce Creek. The property is partially fenced and consists of a wide variety of topography and habitat, including cottonwood, aspen, fir and pine trees which provide seclusion and privacy. There are trails to access thousands of acres of the Salmon-Challis National Forest. The Trout Placer property is home to many deer, elk and bear because of its proximity to the national forest. The property was patented in 1902 by Teddy Roosevelt in what is known as the Dahlonega Mining District.

The North Fork of the Salmon River and Pierce Creek offer spectacular fishing opportunities. Fishing is open virtually year round in Lemhi County. Rainbow trout, steelhead trout, and Chinook salmon are the most plentiful species found in the Salmon River.

The closest town offering an assortment of amenities is Salmon, Idaho, 30 miles to the south. Salmon is a quaint, friendly town of just over 3000 residents and attracts many tourists visiting the area to raft the "River of No Return" and to fish and hunt. The town thrives on recreation and tourism. The Lemhi County airport is located just outside of Salmon and can accommodate small aircraft and jets. Lodging and restaurants are also available in North Fork, Idaho (14 miles south of the property).

The property can easily be accessed from Missoula, Montana, which offers a commercial airport for quick access from anywhere around the world. The Lost Trail Powder Mountain ski area located at the Montana-Idaho border is just 5 miles north of the property. Lost Trail Powder Mountain offers great skiing accommodations with five double chairs, three rope tows and over 50 marked trails on 1800 acres!
